Interview:
Thank you very much for agreeing to do this interview! Can you introduce yourself?
I'm Sebastian, 23 years old. I sing and play the guitar in Teaspoon, a band from Gothenburg, Sweden. The other members are
Stig, 20, guitar; Kristian, 22, organ and syntheziser; Björn, 20, bass; and Max, 20, drums.
You will be having a new EP out, right? Can you tell us more about it?
It's a 7" single called "Dream Girl" b/w "Anthony's Songe" out on the new Glasgow label EWO (eyes wide open) Records on 3d June.
EWO records have a page on facebook and a site should appear soon on http://www.eworecords.com
Both sides were recorded one afternoon in a barn outside Glasgow, and I think you can really hear that. Some kind of pastoral
atmosphere on both sides.
It's limited to 500 copies and you should all buy one and then sell it on ebay for big bucks once we have become U2.
What are some of your main influences?
The obvious ones are the early Pink Floyd, July and all kinds of psych pop from the UK and beyond, garage, funky rock and heavy psych as well.
We're into all sorts of music though: Library and soundtrack stuff, eastern europe prog, early electronic stuff, bollywood, minimal synth, EBM, industrial, cosmic/ny/italo disco, acid house, krautrock, zeuhl, musique concrete, doom, modern classical, jazz, hip-hop, electro funk, soul, r&b, popcorn. Genres rock.
When can we expect the whole album release?
There are no plans at the moment. Personally I would like to make a concept album adapted from Milton's "Paradise Lost", in a heavy psych cabaret operette style.
What are some future plans for the band? Are you gonna go touring?
We're playing in Gothenburg a lot at the moment, then we're going over to Scotland again to play at Doune The Rabbit Hole festival on 12th June.
Nothing after that really.
Do you have anything else to add about the band?
We have a dream, the goal of our career and why we got into playing music in the first place you could say, to one day be able to go to
a dairy and see how milk is made. That would be lovely. We love milk, it's healthy and well tasty.
