3. Ayahuasca Dark Trip! I just love your name. How did you pick that kind of name?

It’s based in the sacred ceremony of Ayahuasca, ancient teacher of light in different parts of Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, etc. The Dark Trip reflects our interested in occultism.
Basically, the name shows our interested in rituals, occultism, spiritualism, shamanism, and lots of other things, and I think that people will understand it pretty well.

4. If I'm not wrong you guys comes from Peru, Brazil and Netherlands. So you are probably influenced by many different genres of music. Can you share a few words about your influences?

Buddy: I guess I’m kind of narrow minded in my musical taste, since I don’t enjoy a lot besides the recent psychedelic doom scene.
The list of bands I listen to I huge, but the most influential ones must be Master Musicians of Bukkake, Ascend, Queen Elephantine (especially Kailash), Sunn o))), Bong, Dead Meadow, Ufomammut, Grails, Morkobot, Om, Toner Low and Earth.

Brayan: I'm more more open in that aspect. For me doesn’t  matter if its rock, folk, jazz, blues, experimental, classical, bossa nova, etc. Most have something important to say, or be interested in the sound. Otherwise, will be just another group
Some artits that i can mantion as influence can be El Polen, Tarkus, Ravi Shankar, Black Sabbath  , Flower Travellin Band, Almengra, Gong, Modulo 1000, Guru Guru, Amon Düül II, Arco Iris, Wara; Vlubä; Phurpa, Zero Kama, The Incredible String Band, Julieta Rimoldi, Daniel Higgs, La Ira De Dios, Caballo De Plomo, etc.

5. "The sound is based in the sacred rituals, with heavy sound, trying to evoke the ayahuasca ceremony experience."
Man, I love this quote. What else can you tell me about the inspiration you have?

We’re very interested in different kinds of ancient rituals, and we had experienced lots of them, so we try to evoke the different experiences we had live in our music, with different instruments from each tradition

6. What is your opinion about psychedelic/hard rock scene these days?

Buddy: Where I live, in the Netherlands, there is not much of a scene at all. Which makes it really hard to form a band.  Annually we have maybe 15 gigs that I think are worth while visiting. I used to go to a lot of “stoner-pop” concerts as well, but now I like music with a bit more depth. Luckily I get to visit Roadburn each year, so I can still get the required doses of creative music.

Brayan: Here, In Peru, we have some pretty cool bands, as Caballo De Plomo, Reino Ermitaño, Baal, La Ira De Dios, Don Juan Matus, El Hijo De La Aurora, Serpentina Satelite, Mazo, Tlön, etc. The Peruvian heavy-psychedelic scene it’s not too big, and most of the bands are in Lima, the capital of Peru. So must of the bands known each other, because the places to play are basically bars, some houses, and bands play together most of the time. Usually bands don’t get any money from gigs, but they enjoy it, that’s the important part

7. How about some future plans for the band?

We are working on a new album. It will be called བར་དོ་ཐོས་གྲོལ (Bardo Thödol) after the Tibetan Book of the Dead. We won’t give away a lot of detail yet, but the tracks will be about several burial methods used in Tibet. . Overall the album will probably be more basic, with percussion and crazy instruments like the Dungchen, Throat Vocals, etc. Also, we’re working on a re-edition of Mind Journey on vinyl, with some extra tracks, and also we’re working on a experimental album about sacred ceremonies.

 9. I hope you come to Slovenia soon. If you need any help, let me know!

Thanks Man! We’re thinking in play live soon, but we’re very exciting about our coming works. For the moment, will be hard to make some gigs, since we live far from each other. But there’s always a possibility to make gigs, so, stay tuned to our news.

10. Thank you very much for your time and effort. Do you have anything else to say about the band or yourself,  that I didn't ask?

Illumination For All Your Minds and  Souls.
